The 28-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Oakwell, but will not be included in Simon Davey’s squad for Barnsley’s home clash with Ipswich on Tuesday night as the club are still awaiting international clearance.
Davey (pictured) has a proven track record when it comes to bringing in overseas players, with the likes of Heinz Muller, Dennis Souza, Anderson De Silva, Diego Leon and Hugo Colace making an impression in the Championship in recent seasons.
Bogdanovic started his career with Sliema Wanderers in Malta and scored 31 goals in as many games when helping Marsaxlokk to the Maltese title in the 2006/7 season.
He was named footballer of the year for 2007 in Malta and moved to Italy with Cisco Roma the following season.
